~Day Four~

[As usual, written in code on a random page]
Ayumu-san,
How are things back at Mibu? Is everyone getting along well? Has much time passed? I know you're still watching over them as well as you always did when you were alive. I wonder if we feel the same things now. I've never felt so lonesome as I do now - knowing what happens, watching the future unfold, and not being able to help them at all.
Is Hijikata-san back there? I wonder if he is... He was here for a short time, but... It does no good to show weakness, but even the strongest man sometimes needs the comfort of a listening ear. Will you do me the favor, even though you're too far for my words to reach?
Did I fail him?
Is that why he left without me?
Did he leave without me?
Am I doubting him only because he has been missing for a day? Am I wrong to think he's gone completely?
I am going to look for him tonight without the Battousai or Homura-san. I can't trust myself around either of them right now. If I were to slip and attempt to kill Kenshin-san, my instincts tell me that Homura-san would dispose of me quickly. I cannot allow myself to disobey Hijikata-san's last-- ...Hijikata-san's command.
We do not strike unless provoked. We do not strike unless provoked.
We do not strike unless provoked.
We do not strike unless provoked. We do not strike unless provoked.
[There is a large scribble next to the last phrase]
I've met some interesting people here. Captain Jack Harkness is from the future and likes to dance. He's quite the flirt, but it's all in good fun. Kyouya-kun seems to be a good friend of Homura-san's and will undoubtably be of use later.
Several more people seem to know of me and today I met one of them. Hattori Heiji of the Hattori Hanzo clan - interesting fighting style. A little rusty on some bits, but once you get him past using form, he's much like Tetsu-kun. I do hope we get the chance to spar again when the nurse's can't stab us with that needle thing. It's quite annoying.
I also met a young silver-haired man today by the name of Kadaj. He seems to have any number of enemies, but could prove to be of great use if I can stay on his good side. He's one of the few I've met who prefers the killer instinct to the happy-go-lucky. Quite an interesting young man. I hope to speak with him again.
Ayumu-san, if the future is true, when I go home, will I get sick again? I'm having a hard time really organizing my thoughts. I suppose I best end this here.

We do not strike unles----
