[Written in code and on a random page]
I must speak with Honey or Hikaru again. They hold vital information that could prove useful when dealing with the Choushu and their allies in Kyoto.
I must also speak with Hijikata Toshirou. He is not my Vice Commander, but he is still an officer of the Shinsengumi and he outranks me. As such, despite my hesitations, I must at least hear him out. If he has orders for me, so be it. If not, then I will continue in my service to Homura for as long as he needs me.
Homura wishes me to see a young man named Nataku - his predecessor as Toushin Taishi, apparently. I've never worked around so many gods before. It's an odd sensation, but something tells me that this Nataku will be more play than work.
As for work, I must get to the bottom of Lelouch Lamperouge. He's smart, and so is his companion, Suzaku, but there is something off about them both. As promising as anyone can be, no soldier would ever follow a student or trust his word above all others. Lelouch cannot be a normal student either, if his self-confession regarding his "honesty inducing" power is to be believed. While Mello has removed himself from the Institute, a new threat to the stability of our group has arrived.
If it were up to me, I'd just kill them both and be done with it, but that's not very sporting of me.
The bottom line is that there is a lot to do and not much time to do it in. I can feel the disease weakening my lungs and while I am still well enough to fight and do what I need, I know that my time is short. It's progressing faster than I had expected, faster than it did in Kyoto. I wonder if it's picking up where it left off... It is of no consequence, however. I will work until the last breath has left my body.
Or I will end my life as ordered by the Code.
I never thought I'd miss your bitter tea, Hijikata-san.
I hope you're doing well out there.
